Frankfurt
Culture - Frankfurt is a major international
multilingual city and deals travelers from around
the world due to the fact that they are a financial
hot spot in Europe. Even with such a large presence
of other nationalities, Frankfurt has still held onto
their German culture.
Since Frankfurt was established, it has been growing,
reinventing itself, and expanding. During World War
II, large parts of Frankfurt were
totally destroyed. Frankfurt has reconstructed themselves
and made things better. Though some of the buildings
had to be rebuilt, others were fixed and have kept
the world European feel. Even when Frankfurt's skyline
is very modern, you will be able to locate historic
building throughout the city.
The streets are filled with museums, theaters, galleries,
gardens and pedestrian only zones. All of these keep
a sense of what Germans are really
like. They are a culture that enjoys and expects to
have nature around them. They have taken great pride
in keeping their parks, pathways and gardens clean
and open to the public. Taking a stroll is almost
a pass time in Germany. Not only do they go for walks
but they take the entire family to the parks. This
is a place to hang out and relax.
The galleries display German works of art for viewing.
The artwork may be paintings or sculptures. The fact
that there are so many different galleries to choose
from is just amazing. The museums offer you a look
at the past and the present of German and
Frankfurt Culture. By the river front they
have an entire section known as the Museumsurfer,
which has the best of their museums. They just don’t
show off German work but all of Europe cause they
are part of Europe. They have kept the old European
feel that many tourists think there should be when
traveling in Europe.
They are a sociable group of people. You will notice
this when there is festival because it brings Germans
from across Germany to one place. They drink, eat,
dance and sing as though they are all old friends.
Festivals are an important part of the German
Culture. They have festivals for all sorts
of important dates and the people look forward to
the festivals year after year. This is one of the
best places to meet and see the locals as they are.
Frankfurt is always filled with travelers and tourists
and the German people are very open to them. They
lend a helping hand, try their best to speak English
and just are a friendly group of people.
Frankfurt is just a small section
of Germany but it shows off the best of what Germany
has to offer. You can get to know the people and the
area by just walking around the city streets. This
is why Frankfurt will continue to grow and welcome
more people to their city.
