Frankfurt
Internet Cafe - Frankfurt is planning making
the center of Frankfurt a wireless internet access
hot spot. The city understands the need for internet
access and desires to make it easy for their own locals
and travelers to access the world wide web.
Main Surf is the company that right
now offers wireless access for 9 Euros a day. They
have been working on expanding their wireless access
to include the center of the city. Right now you can
purchase a wireless access card at some hot spots.
The Frazer Café offers these cards and you
can use their own PC's to access the web. Just as
any internet café, they offer drinks and internet
access for a reasonable rate.
The CyberRyder was the first internet
café to open in Frankfurt. They offer a fast
connection, multilingual staff, great cappuccino,
atmosphere and of course powerful PC's to surf with.
You have options when deciding on how much you want
to spend on your internet costs. Certain days they
hold a happy hour and the rates are reduced. If you
plan on using this location a lot, then you may want
to purchase a day card, or join the premium account
list. It is all a question of what works for you.
The Dow Street Internet Café
is a good mixture of café and internet. They
serve breakfast, sandwiches, salads and other items.
Besides that you have a choice of different computers
to access and surf the web. They offer a reasonable
rate and certain times have discounts. Once again
it depends on how much you plan on using their services.
The city of Frankfurt will make sure you are able
to keep in touch with the rest of the world through
the internet.
If you are going to bring your own laptop and you
aren't able to use a wireless connection, then
Freenet may be right for you. You can sign
up for this service and call in from any land line
in Germany. Just by dialing the telephone number,
you are charged .025 Euro and it is added to your
phone bill. This is just another option that is offered
in Frankfurt. Remember to check with your hotel or
hostel about what internet access they may offer.
